Currents of Fresh Air: Telemann, Bach and Scarlatti (SOLD OUT)
“Currents of fresh air” was the comment made by eminent French writer Romain Rolland about the music of Telemann. This programme will include Telemann’s Violin Sonata in D, Partita in A for solo harpsichord by J.S Bach and Sonatas by Scarlatti.

Hardly Handel: De la Salle
Recorder ensemble The Flautadors will perform a selection of contemporary chamber music for recorder quartet, specially chosen to suit Handel's intimate music room.

Diva Thursday Live: Husbands and Wives
This recital focuses on the fascinating and often controversial lives of musical couples including Johann Hasse and operatic superstar Faustina Bordoni, Thomas Arne and renowned English singer Cecilia Young, and her sister Isabella and composer Lampe.

An entertaining and witty recital of feel-good harpsichord delights by Marchand, Forqueray and sons and Rameau. With harpsichordist Ketil Haugsand.

A Bach Showcase
During this engaging solo harpsichord recital, Pawel Siwczak will explore the differing styles of French, Italian and Stylus Phantasticus (a style of early baroque music) in J.S. Bach's music.

Diva Weekend: She Was Despised - The Susannah Cibber story
Dr Suzanne Aspden discusses the tragic but ultimately triumphant life of singer and actress Susannah Cibber who sang in the premiere of Handel’s Messiah in Dublin.

Dialogues and Duets
Ensemble Arcadia Revived perform music by Matthew Locke, Henry Lawes, Daniel and Henry Purcell, John Eccles and Handel.

Lamentations
The Baroque Encounter Trio will perform a recital exploring the theme of grief. Through the sacred and secular pieces selected, the mood varies from denial and depression to defiant anger and even the peace of eternal rest.

Multi-sensory art event. This event is particularly suitable for visually impaired visitors. Discover the delights of 18th-century art and music and find out how styles differed in England, France and Italy.

A selection of cantatas by Handel and other composers will be performed by Claire Troth (soprano) and ensemble Melopoetica.

Italian Divas in London
A chance to discover and discuss cutting-edge research with leading academics on the lives and careers of the 18th-century female singers who worked in London, which is currently challenging preconceptions about these women.

In this lecture-recital, Dr Barbara Diana and Bridget Cunningham (harpsichord) will explore Durastanti’s career and her relationship with Handel through the roles he wrote especially for her.

Pamela Nash performs a programme which includes music by Byrd, Bohm, L. Couperin and Scarlatti.

Remembering the Future
Ensemble The Hola’s recreation and combination of a wide variety of compositional and performance practices from many ages, including Eastern European polyphony, the enchantment of Indian, Arabic and Chinese music.

The Measured and the Free
Baroque and modern styles of improvisation combine with stricter modes of music-making in a thoroughly collaborative concert, which will interpret free preludes, recitatives, folk song and sound poetry in ways which have not been heard before.

In the sky I am walking (Am Himmel wandre Ich)
Stockhausen’s large-scale re-working of Native American folksong and poetry is performed here as a tribute to this icon of the avant-garde, who died last December. This concert also features the London premiere of John Habron’s second commission from Handel House Museum.

Hommage to Landowska (British Harpsichord Society event)
In this lecture-recital Kasia Tomczak-Feltrin will explore the life of Wanda Landowska, a female harpsichordist who was deeply influential in the revival of the harpsichord in Europe in the early 20th century.
