The Baroque Encounter Trio will perform a recital exploring the theme of grief. Through the sacred and secular pieces selected, the mood varies from denial and depression to defiant anger and even the peace of eternal rest. The programme includes sacred vocal works by J.S. Bach, theatrical pieces by Purcell and Handel and solo harpsichord lamentations on various deaths including his own by Froberger. With Glenn Kesby (counter tenor), Lauren Brant (recorders) and Claire Williams (harpsichord). Booking opens 11 August.
